The Paul Lauzier Scholarship Foundation was created pursuant to the Last Will and Testament of Paul Lauzier. Scholarships are awarded annually to graduates of Grant County high schools who attend a college or vocational school within the State of Washington. Students pursuing graduate degrees are also eligible for scholarship awards. Students receiving scholarship awards must attend school on a full-time basis.
Scholastic achievement is part of the evaluation process. However, it is not controlling. Traits such as community and school involvement, integrity, work ethic, and leadership are strongly considered. The Foundation closely evaluates the quality of curriculum each applicant is taking. Other critical factors include the caliber of the personal statement, letters of recommendation, and the overall quality of the completed application. Three person scholarship committees have been appointed at each Grant County high school. The committees review applications from graduating high school seniors and Grant County students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary educational institutions located within the State of Washington. After reviewing applications for completeness and content, the committees submit recommendations to the Trustee for final approval. All scholarship awards are made at the sole discretion of the Trustee. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Students may apply for a scholarship each academic year regardless of whether or not he/she has been previously selected to receive an award. Also, students previously awarded a scholarship are not assured of receiving future scholarships. Each academic year involves an entirely new selection process. The application form for students currently enrolled in post-secondary school is different from the application form used by high school graduating seniors. Please select the appropriate form for further information concerning the application process.
